Welcome back to my coverage of CamJam Dallas 2024, I would like to extend special thanks to Noble Audio for making this coverage possible, not only do they make incredible IEMs and now Headphones, they have always been a great supporter of the Personal Audio community in general often sponsoring our coverage of these events.
MEZE AUDIO
Meze took one of the large ballrooms to show off their complete product line. To match their aesthetic while demonstrating the epic Meze Liric Closed-Back Headphone($2,000) they made a custom faceplate for the dCS Lina System ($31,150). Also on display were a brand-new open-back dynamic design the Meze 105 AER Headphone ($400) as well as the Meze 109 Pro Open-Back Dynamic Headphone($799). Topping their Rinaro-designed Isodynamic planar magnetic headphones was the Meze Elite Aluminium Open-Back Headphone ($4,000) and the Meze Empyrean II Open-Back Headphone ($2,999). And for IEM they had their popular Meze Alba IEM ($159).
WOO AUDIO/ABYSS Headphones
Woo Audio was highlighting their brand new Woo Audio WA24 20th Anniversary Edition Headphone Amplifier ($12,999) with a pair of the brand new Grado HP100 SE Open Air Headphone ($2,495). They were also demonstrating the Abyss Headphones Diana MR Premium High-Performance Headphone ($2,995) as well as their outstanding TUBE mini Balanced Headphone Amplifier / DAC and Power Bass ($799 with base, $499 mini only).
DEKONI AUDIO
DEKONI Audio had something new to supplement their line of fantastic custom earpads, eartips, and headphone accessories, DEKONI Audio’s new Headphone Cable line ENSEMBLE CABLES ($59.99 – $84.99) which employs MCS (DEKONI Modular Cable System) making it easy to switch between connectors without having to duplicate everything for each headphone and each amplifier.
WARWICK ACOUSTICS
WARWICK ACOUSTICS was showing off their new WARWICK ACOUSTICS APERIO GoldenSound SIGNATURE Electrostatic Headphone System ($38,000) voiced by Cameron Oatley (GoldenSound) alongside a standard WARWICK ACOUSTICS APERIO ($40,000 for the limited Black Edition, $35,000 for silver) to allow for A/B listening. While I prefer the original voicing, I believe the GoldenSound will appeal to most.
AUDMA
Newcomer AUDMA was demonstrating their evolutionary AUDMA MAESTRO HPA1 Headphone Amplifier ($9,600) featuring AUDMA’s E.L.I.S.A. (Electronic Loudspeaker Imaging Simulating Amplifier) Circuit which allows you to adjust the soundstage to create a more three-dimensional presentation.
SIVGA/SENDY AUDIO
SIVGA and SENDY AUDIO were showing their full lines of epic budget-oriented headphones focusing on their new SIVGA Anser Headphone ($200), as well as an as yet unnamed closed-back headphone expected to sell for around $449. On the IEM front was the SIVGA Nightingale 14.5mm Planar Magnetic Driver Wired Hi-Fi in-Ear Monitor Earphones ($229), and SIVGA Que 10mm Strong Magnet Beryllium Diaphragm Dynamic Driver Earphones ($69.90).
PLANET VENUS Audio Technologies
Planet Venus Audio Technologies made their CanJam debut showing their unique software option that allows for the isolation and removal of specific noise and distortion. Their Spectral Coherence Control ($189 Essentials Version, $389 Master Version) lets you actually listen to the removed material. Though their software is currently only available for Mac, they said they are working on a Windows version.
LINSOUL
Linsoul was offering on-site impression services for a discounted price to facilitate those wishing to purchase one of their Custom IEMs. While they carry dozens of top brands, focus appeared to be on FATfreq, PLUSSOUND, and THIEAUDIO. Of especial interest were the FATfreq Grand Maestro ($3,190 custom, $2,871 universal), FATfreq Tsuru ($1,037 custom, $877 universal), FATfreq Maestro Mini ($478), and the THIEAUDIO Origin ($849). The FATfreq Grand Maestro is available with optional filters that offer a wide range of sonic profiles, including an oversized module that completely opened up the sound.
HIGH END by OZ/MIMIC AUDIO
HIGH END by OZ and MIMIC AUDIO have become a regular fixture at all of the shows I attend showing off great products like Mytek, EMM Labs, Viva, Modhouse, Stax, and pretty much every headphone line. What I found to be exceptional was the Viva Egoista STX Electrostatic 300b Headphone Amplifier ($23,750) which provided beautiful sound whether played through STAX SR-X9000 Electrostatic Earspeakers ($6,200) or Dan Clark Audio CORINA Electrostatic Headphones ($4,499.99)
requisite AUDIO/RAAL 1995
requisite AUDIO (formally RAAL|requisite) was showing both of the RAAL 1995 models the RAAL 1995 Magna dual ribbon Headphone and the RAAL 1995 Immanis triple ribbon Headphone, as well as the RAAL 1995 Ribbon Current Drive Interface. Danny was quick to point out that both models are only available from requisite AUDIO (who have exclusive U.S. rights to the product) direct in the U.S. as they are too backlogged to provide units for dealers at this time.
So that wraps up my coverage of CanJam Dallas 2024 thanks to Noble Audio for providing sponsorship.
