CanJam SoCal 2026 – Coverage Sponsored by Noble Audio Part 4

Welcome back to my coverage of CanJam SoCal 2026.

HEAD(AMAME)

Upstairs on the second floor, I found the Seminar Room, which had been displaced by another vendor, and four private listening rooms; the first I visited was HEAD(AMAME), who, as a first in my experience, were showing the high-end 3D printer that they use to make their HEAD(AMAME) PRO Headphones ($469), which employ their unique Next-Gen Glass Drivers.

Layer Audio Design/Henry Audio/Paltauf/Eternal Arts/Audio Technica

Layer Audio Design were demonstrating two of their exquisite Layer Audio Design Gen-300B Integrated Amplifiers ($1,499) along with their Layer Audio Design Headphone Adapter COPULA for GEN-300B ($289), an impedance adaptor block for 4-pin XLR balanced headphone cables, one being driven by their prototype Layer Audio Design DAC (TBA), the other by a Henry Audio DA 256 DAC ($1,450). Also on display was a beautiful Paltauf HPA-150 Headphone Amplifier (TBA), an Eternal Arts OTL TT Pro, an Eternal Arts HLP, and the amazing Audio-Technica HPA-KG Narukami Headphone Tube Amplifier ($108,000), which was probably on loan from Audio-Technica, who were set up next door.

STATUS

STATUS AUDIO was on hand with their three-driver hybrid Status Pro X ($249), which features a 12mm Dynamic subwoofer and Dual Knowles Balanced Armature Drivers, six microphones, and IP55 water resistance.

Astell&Kern

Astell&Kern was focused on demonstrating three of their newest products: the Astell&Kern SP4000T DAP ($3,620), the Astell&Kern PD5 DAP ($1,049), and the Astell&Kern Clarus IEM ($2,900).

Apos

Apos was back with their host of community-designed and manufactured products; of special note was their Apos X ES LAB HYDRA Integrated Amplifier ($1,980), which is designed to run Loudspeakers (20 Watts/ch 8Ω), Headphones from 32Ω to 300Ω with 1/4″ TRS, 4-pin XLR Headphone, and 4-pin XLR Direct outputs, and even has a built-in energizer for electrostatic headphones.

HiFi For All

HiFi For All (HFA) were demonstrating their HFA DAHLIA 2 Headphone ($1,099), which offers optional tuning rings ($29.99) for those who seek a more dynamic sound.
